The school and marina belt north of Phuket Town — where a great many international families actually live.

Families whose priority is the school run and access to hospitals.
The residential corridor between Phuket Town and the eastern marinas.
About 30 minutes.
Suburban, green and organised. Quietly the island’s family heartland.
Phuket runs a dry season from November to April and a green, wetter monsoon from May to October. It is warm all year - rain arrives in short heavy bursts rather than grey days.
Koh Kaew is not a beach address and makes no attempt to be one. It is the belt of residential land north of Phuket Town, and its case rests on two things: the international schools clustered here, and the marinas on the coast just east.
For a family relocating to Phuket with children, this is frequently the most rational choice on the island — a five-minute school run, ten minutes to the main hospitals and shopping centres, half an hour to the airport, and housing at prices the west coast cannot approach.
Koh Kaew sits between Phuket Town to the south and the eastern coast to the north-east, with Boat Lagoon and the marinas a few minutes away. The bypass road links it quickly to the rest of the island.
The west coast beaches are thirty to forty minutes across; the airport around thirty minutes north.
Everything we would actually point a client towards — restaurants, beach clubs, schools, clinics, markets and services — mapped and filterable.

This was low-lying coastal and plantation land that developed as Phuket Town expanded and, decisively, as international schools chose to build here in the 1990s and 2000s. The marina development at Boat Lagoon followed the same logic — sheltered water and easy road access.
Growth has been orderly by Phuket standards, in estates and low-rise developments rather than towers.
The area’s defining feature. Several of the island’s established international schools sit within a few minutes, which is why families cluster here and why rental demand from teaching and expatriate staff is consistent year-round.
Boat Lagoon and the other eastern marinas are minutes away, with berths, services and a marina village of restaurants and shops. Sheltered water means boats stay usable year-round.
Marina restaurants, local Thai kitchens and the full range of Phuket Town ten minutes south. Not a dining destination in itself, but very well supplied.
The island’s largest shopping centres are around ten minutes away, with supermarkets and services throughout. Among the most convenient areas on Phuket.
Several major international schools sit within minutes — the reason most families here chose the area.
The eastern marinas are sheltered from monsoon swell, so boating carries on year-round.
Together with Kathu and Wichit, one of the shortest hospital runs on the island.
No swimming beach to speak of — this is mangrove and marina coast. The west coast beaches are thirty to forty minutes away.
Schools, hospitals and shopping all within ten minutes, and considerably more house for the money than the coast. The trade is that you drive to the sand.
A mix of condominium stock, where foreign freehold may be available if capacity remains, and houses on land via long lease or other lawful structures.
Yes, for long lets — school staff and relocating families provide steady year-round demand. It is not a holiday-let area.
Parts of this low-lying corridor can hold water in heavy monsoon rain. It is plot-specific and we check the history as standard.
Yes.
