This land was mined for tin until the industry collapsed, leaving flooded pits and spoil that nobody wanted. From the mid-1980s the developers reshaped the pits into lagoons, imported soil and planted at a scale that only makes sense in decades.

The result is one of the more successful land rehabilitation projects in Thailand, and the template that most later Phuket resort estates copied.

Security at the gates, maintained roads and landscaping, a shuttle between the hotels and the beach, and access to resort facilities — pools, gyms, restaurants, water sports — depending on the property and its membership. Estate and common-area fees apply and should be understood in detail before purchase.

Laguna Golf Phuket sits inside the estate, alongside tennis, water sports on the lagoons and a long-standing calendar of events including the island’s best-known triathlon.

The hotel restaurants cover a wide range without leaving the gates. For everything else, Boat Avenue is five minutes away and the beach clubs at the southern end of Bang Tao slightly further.

UWC Thailand is about twelve minutes away. Clinics are close in Cherngtalay and the major hospitals are in Phuket Town, around thirty-five minutes. Many residents use the internal shuttle plus a car for off-estate trips.
