The polished end of the west coast — a compact bay, boutique dining and the headland villas that gave Millionaire’s Mile its name.

Buyers who want a small, upmarket beach address with real restaurants nearby.
Surin: a short, steep-shelving bay between two headlands.
About 30 minutes.
Smart and compact. Small enough to walk, expensive enough to feel exclusive.
Phuket runs a dry season from November to April and a green, wetter monsoon from May to October. It is warm all year - rain arrives in short heavy bursts rather than grey days.
Surin is the west coast in miniature: one bay, one road behind it, and a concentration of good restaurants, boutique hotels and villas that has made it one of the island’s most desirable small addresses. It has none of Bang Tao’s scale and none of Patong’s noise, and the land behind rises quickly into the headland that leads north towards Millionaire’s Mile.
The compactness is the appeal. You can walk to dinner, to the sand and to a coffee, and the buyers who choose Surin tend to be the ones who have decided they want a neighbourhood rather than a resort.
Surin sits between Bang Tao to the north and Kamala to the south, with headlands at both ends. Bang Tao is eight minutes up the coast road, Boat Avenue twelve, and the airport around thirty minutes north.
The Millionaire’s Mile headland begins immediately south, which is where the largest villas on this stretch of coast sit.
Everything we would actually point a client towards — restaurants, beach clubs, schools, clinics, markets and services — mapped and filterable.

Surin was a quiet fishing bay that became fashionable early, drawing boutique hotels and private villas well before the mass development further north. Its beachfront has been through significant regulatory change, including the clearance of unlicensed beach clubs and structures during a national tidy-up of Thai beaches, which reshaped how the sand is used.
What remained is a smaller, cleaner beach with the dining and residential character concentrated on the road behind.
A short bay with fine sand that shelves steeply, which makes for dramatic surf in the monsoon and lovely swimming in the dry months. It is smaller than its neighbours and can feel busy in February, but it never approaches Patong.
Disproportionately good for the size: a cluster of quality restaurants, wine bars and cafes along the road behind the beach, plus resort dining on the headlands. Many residents from Bang Tao drive down here to eat.
Small local shops and a supermarket or two; for a full weekly shop, Porto de Phuket at Boat Avenue is twelve minutes north.
UWC Thailand is around twenty minutes inland. Clinics are nearby in Cherngtalay and Kamala; hospitals in Phuket Town about thirty-five minutes. The bay itself is walkable, but a car is still needed.
The headland immediately south carries some of the most expensive villas in Thailand.
A national clean-up of Thai beaches removed the unlicensed clubs and structures that once covered this sand.
For a bay this small, the concentration of good kitchens is remarkable — people drive in from up the coast.
Modestly in high season, and quiet in the green season. It is far smaller and calmer than Patong, and quieter than the southern end of Bang Tao.
In the dry season, yes. The beach shelves steeply and monsoon surf can be strong from May to October — respect the flags.
Both routes exist — condominium units in foreign freehold where the building has capacity, and villas on registered long leases with ownership of the building. Hillside villas need their permissions checked carefully.
Scarcity. There is very little land, the bay is small, and the headland addresses are among the most sought-after on the island.
The bay itself, yes — restaurants, beach and shops are within a few minutes on foot. Everything beyond needs a car.
Yes, for anything outside the bay, and particularly for the hillside addresses.
